Finance Director Opportunity
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director and sitting as a key member of the leadership team, the Finance Director will lead finance across Milbank Concrete Products in Earls Colne, Essex and CUBE6 in March, Cambridgeshire. The appointment has arisen following the progression of the current Finance Director into the Group Finance Director role, providing valuable continuity and a strong connection into the wider Milbank Group, while creating scope for the incoming Finance Director to make the role their own.
This is a broad, commercially focused and genuinely influential leadership position. Supported by an established and capable finance team, the Finance Director will be a trusted partner to the Managing Director and wider leadership team, providing the insight, challenge and commercial perspective to support effective decision-making and drive business performance. With the recent acquisition of CUBE6, there is plenty to get involved with: bringing greater consistency and insight across the two businesses, strengthening reporting and management information, and developing a clear understanding of product costing, margins, working capital and operational performance. Working closely with sales, estimating, production and installation, the Finance Director will ensure finance is firmly connected to the commercial and operational decision-making of the business.
Alongside strong financial leadership and control, the role will contribute to strategic planning, investment appraisal and the continued development of systems and processes. The Finance Director will lead budgeting, forecasting and cash management within Group parameters and build a close working relationship with the Group Finance Director and wider Group, combining the autonomy of a divisional leadership role with the support and perspective of the broader Milbank Group. The role also leads the finance team and HR administration and payroll function, with responsibility for the ERP system and its continued development. The Finance Director will also shape and lead a vision for AI integration across the business, starting with automation and insight within finance and extending to areas such as estimating, production planning and reporting, so that new tools are adopted responsibly and deliver measurable value.
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) who combines strong financial and technical capability with commercial judgement and the confidence to operate as a genuine business partner. Experience within manufacturing, construction or another operational or project-based environment would be particularly relevant, whether gained as an established Finance Director or a senior finance leader ready to make the step up. You will be confident with ERP systems and reporting tools such as Power BI, with the credibility to provide both support and constructive challenge to the leadership team and wider Group.
